Japan Irelan­d Travel Director, Darina Slattery, has been elected New Chairperson for the Ireland Japan Association. 

Founder and Director of Japan Ireland Travel, Darina Slattery (Nakagawa) has been given the dutiful position as Chairperson for the Corporate & Individual Membership Association, Ireland Japan Association (IJA). 

Darina was first elected on the council in March 2008 and became actively involved in organising some of their events including Japanese related events at The Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures, and the launch of their new website. As chairperson of the IJA, Darina will be given the challenge of ensuring that ties between Japan and Ireland (cultural & corporate) will remain strong and continue to grow at the pace it has been over the past number of years (with the help of her fellow council members).

The IJA has a history going back over 40 years. It is a non-profit making association aimed at creating new opportunities for businesses and individuals interested in maintaining relationships with Japan and Ireland.
